I just went through the same thing with my SA. It had four ring CI pistons, the new "Sealed Power" pistons were three ring aluminum. I was also told it will run smoother than with the old CI pistons. I was concerned about a possible weight difference & crank balance. My rebuilder told me that on my engine, there are always two pistons up while the other two are always down, they counter balance each other, and a possible slight weight difference would'd be noticible. (V-type engines are a different story, besides, this is a relatively low RPM engine)I did opt for the 3-1/8" dia. step top higher compression pistons instead of the original 3" flat tops. It will give me a little higher compression, and a little more displacement. Should have an easier time pulling the Woods L-59 mower in 3rd. Got it back together last week with new main & rod bearings, reconditioned oil pump, & totally rebuilt head. Runs nice. Be sure & flush out the sludge in the bottom of your block while you have it apart.
