If I remember right, the Champion D-16 was the plug that recommended at the time the letter series was made. The Champion name has been under fire for being a poor quality plug off and on the past 15 years. Personally, I still run the Champion D-16. I have run equivalent plugs in AC, Autolite, and Mortorcraft. I’m not sure which one is the best as they all seem to last about the same for me. I also run ethanol blended fuel which seems to help with the carbon problems, and I still work the tractors that I have when I run them. If you don’t work the tractor then the hotter plugs suggested by others is the way to go.
