I changed the head (forgot to post eariler) The origonal was cracked so I changed it with one from a 2504. It sat around for a long time and the valves were slightly stuck...loosened them up and adjusted the valves and it works ok. The air cleaner is clean and free, the oil is probably heavy since it is in the teens, but it seem'd to do it in the summer too while flail mowing. I did compression tests on it after adjusting the valves origonally and they were all pretty stong and even. I'll try some mystery oil and see if it helps. The tractor wasn't used a whole lot before I got it...but I do know it was abused..........
