Farmall H Gas Cap

i am not a big ih fan however nto starting that discussion. anyways my wifes father owned a farmall H and becasue he owned we got to keep it around. i recently restored it (for her sake i would ahve hauled it to town with the load of scrap but restored it and the origional gas cap was fairly short in terms of height but leaked after i brazed the tank and had it painted the gas cap leaked when going over bumps. so anyways bought a new gas cap and this one was considerably taller for some reason vs the other one the new one is about 3.5 inches tall but anyways it still leaked. i figured that the flange what the cap screws on to must be bent out of wack or something even thought he gas cap screwed on well and nice anyhways bought another tank. installed it. gas cap leaked. so i got another cap still leaks. so with 2 new caps and a new tank i still get fuel splashing out. is this a known problem? is there a fix? i cant figure w/a new tank (which i didnt mean i mean i figured the flang on the old one could have been bent slightly even though to the eye it dindt seem to be and the cap seemed to fit tight and fit nice but got a new tank and w/2 new caps still leaks. what gives. comparing very closly looking the 2 tanks both flanges look same compared 2 gas caps the part numbers the same and even called 3 OTHER (bought it from one called 3 other) ih dealers all said i had the right caps. so waht gives?
