Dan: CNKS is basically correct, Super A1 from serial number 356001 to end of production, serial number 357958 had the C-123 engine. This tractor was actually a 100 with SA styled sheet metal. The serial tag was actually moved to clutch housing as well. SA serial was always on left seat support. Also somewhere around 1951 the Super A block changed to the C-123 block at serial number 310000. This block was used with thicker sleeves until serial number 356001, giving it 113 cu in. Who knows why it was done this way for sure. This happened about same time as C and SC were getting the C-123 engine. Since the SA would been the only C-113 user left, it was probably less expensive to make different sleeves than cast separate blocks. Who knows why SA didn't get the full C-123 engine at serial number 310000 onward. The best suggestion I can come up with is several up grades occured with other parts of SA between serial number 310000 and 356001. Most notable of these is the final drive, and the hydraulics as well. Not sure any of this mattered a whole lot, I have a SA, 130 and 140. I also have a fast hitch 17 tooth S tine cultivator that will if you let it drop, stop any of these tractors, dead in their tracks. The Super A will lug this cultivator with the other two any day of the week.
