There was a guy from the midwest who used to advertise a fix for this problem in Lancaster Farming. We bought one of his remanufactured shifting plates because we could hardly get our 706 into reverse. It works great and we haven't had an ounce of trouble since. I just tried to find the man's name at Lancasterfarming.com, but was unsuccessful. Maybe someone else who reads this can find the name and number out of an old copy. Good luck and God bless, Steve
