clutch relese fork return spring pin on 45 H

Now that I have the Lift-All pump out, I am in the process of replacing the seals and gaskets on the input shaft and counter shaft on the front of the transmission. Looked back through the archieves and found many helpful hints there - thanks everyone... My question is this - I noticed that the clutch release fork spring pin that is up in the casting above the Lift-All has a good amount of wear (the hole that the clutch return spring goes through) and was thinking above fixing it before it wears through and the spring pops out. And then I will have to drop the pump again and would rather not have to do that job again. Can this pin be removed from the casting very easily? It is listed as an actual part (48556 D) or have any of you ever come up with another suggestion in repairing this pin? Can I just punch this pin out of the casting assuming the pin is still available from Case-IH or am I just SOL on this one?

Second question. There is no type of seal of any kind on the Control Shaft as it goes through the casting of the High-Lift pump on the top corner of the pump casting. Was considering putting a rubber O-ring on this shaft on the inside of the pump next to the control shaft lever. Between the lever and the casketing to help prevent oil slowly working out of shaft opening. Has anyone out there come up with a better method to seal this up. Realize I'm getting anal on this whole "oil leaking" thing but at this point, I haven't cut any corner yet when restoring this ole girl and want to do this part right as well. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
