The clutch and brakes are totally seperate issues. It sound like the clutch needs adjustment or repair. The clutch is mechanical, and so are the brakes. There is an inspection plate on the bottom of the clutch housing, 4 bolts and you can see what is going on with the clutch. Do a search in this forum on 444 and you should find several posts on the brakes, which are not fantastic even when they work properly. I know I have one :) Ben
