No. C-153 means 153 cubic inch gasoline engine. You'll get some pretty strange looks when you tell the parts guy you have a "T2U" cubic inch engine... Anything ending in "R1" or an R with a number is the part number of that piece. In this case, the engine block. I think you've got the right number with the CT2U---, but it's encoded. I believe "009454" is the serial number of the engine, and if IH was at all consistent with its engine number conventions, the "57" indicates the displacement of the engine. Look close. Is there a 1 that might've gotten worn off? 157 would probably signifiy a C-153 engine. Frankly, I think your parts man should buy himself a clue. With the tractor model number and the type of fuel it runs on, he should be able to figure out which engine you have. At worst, he should have the resources to decipher the engine number.
