Yes, it will work and everything will interchange except the sleeves & pistons. If you need them, order a 3-1/4" overbore kit for a Super C; but if you are still running w/o a water pump, spec an early (C113) head gasket to get the large water port openings. Your SA must be a '51 or earlier with that block. The R2 block is just the 2nd rev of the block introduced in '51 for the SC and late SA's. I have an R2 block that came from a '54 SC. I'm not sure when R2 was introduced, wild guess is maybe '53? If you want to chase it down further, post the casting date code and/or the serial number from the block. Stan(VA).
