Mornin' KB,

I've been kinda snooping around for a plow tractor and really wanted a 966; but they are kinda in short supply around here.

The dealer wants $13,500 for this 986 with the big heavy Dual loader equipped with a bale spear bucket/grapple. When I asked him what he’d take for just the tractor, he said he needed $9900.

I’m just thinking that since it has 9000 hours on it, that I shouldn’t let my hunger over ride my appetite either.

I’m still smarting a little over this last one I bought with a lot of hours on it. Those old ones need a lot of fixin’ to get them back in the field.

At 9000 hours, aren’t we right at the door of needing a motor at the very least? Even though, most of the time, the thing was probably just idling around under that loader?

Also, thanks for the heads up on the shifter; I didn’t know about that little irritant with the 86 series. Was that because of that darned cab design on the 86’s?

Probably should chosen stamp collecting as my “old-age hobby”. :>)

Thanks,

Allan
