Well if you have been following my posts I finally got the little cub to charge. It was not the bare spot in the starter wire that I had found but I am glad I found that. Could have been bad. Well after running numerous test and determining the Gen was good and the Reg. was grounded well I put a new regulator on the thing and one would assume that the rottten thing would at least charge a little. Well it did not. being at the end of my rope in ideas I pulled the cover on the thing and gave it a good look over and went to the computer to do a little research. Read a few things and here is what I did. Ont the charging current relay I closed up the air gap a little and polarized and fired it up and the stinking thing charges.
Now this is what I have at the current time:
tractor running at half throttle 8-amp charge on a fully charged battery.
Move throttle up to 3/4 or full and the amp meter reads discharge??? is this correct having a full battery?
full throttle with lights on "D" and I have 4-amp charge.
full throttle with lights on "B" and I might squeak out 1-amp charge.
I think I need a little more.
What do you all think? am I in the ball park?
What should I have? at full throttle with lights on "B"?
