If you use the tractor for work and you have the time convert it to a 12- volt system. This will rid yourself of lots of your problems. If originality is a problem it can easily be converted back to 6-volt. The farmalls I use for daily work I do convert them to 12 volt. I have a couple that I have left original because they are show quality. My 2-cents Rock
