I'm embarassed to read the kind of crappy answer you got first-- I hope it's not your first experience on these forums as most folks are pretty nice and decent enough to answer your questions courteously rather than blather on and insult you like that other fellow did. To answer your question, it does sound like your tranny oil is contaminated with water, rust, etc. If your tractor is uncovered out in the elements it's likely that some rainwater entered by way of the shifter. Even if it is under cover, condensation can collect inside it and corrupt your oil. I believe your fill plug will be on top of the tranny casting in front of your seat and just behind the shifter (I may be wrong.) Your drain plug ought to be in the back near the PTO/belt pulley and at about the lowest point possible in the tranny housing.
