They are used for tillage and running a two row chopper and trust me we take no prisnors . Most of what i have seen in the rear ends oif turned up tractors is the fact of turning under load with duals and useing the brakes this make the side gears work harder and then they gull up and then bang the rear is out . As for the transmission after time they will ware the teethe and on one tractor and i never checked it ithe gear teethe were starting to fold over. but this tractor was a real pice of junk that we rebuilt for a guy and between the mechanical and tires and paint he end up with well over 17000 in that one but hey who am i to say it is what he wanted and he still love his 1066 and treets it like a baby it is always washed and waxed and still looks as good as it did when it left the shop and that was 6or7 years ago and it does get the bag run off it.. Years ago and i do mean years a go the man i worked for bought the first 806 sold in the state of ohio and my uncle bought the second one sold after driving old G.F.'s and they were both turboed at a couple days old my uncle's was runnig 165 plus H.P. and did so from 1963 till 1970's when he got bit by the Greene bug and traded it for a 4320 and a 4020 , and after putting the 4320 in the field plowen and found that it would not even pull like the old 806 did he was a bit upset .

It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro ... [Read Article]
