Ok , easy way to tell if ya got open center or the PFC loolk on the lower part of the right hand control pannel down by the cab floor and if there are two - three colored small levers then it is a PFC system if not then it is the open center and also if it is a later modle then it is a PFC but i don't remember if it was 79 or 80 that they started using the PFC . You can do a flow check with a pressure gauge a high pressure valve and a container that will hold ten gal of oil and a watch , Get a couple pices of 1/2inch hdy. hose and some fitting and install the pressure gauge inline then install the valve after the gauge and then the othere pice of hose into the container plug into one of the remotes and warm the hdy. up to operating temp and run the engine at pto speed and open the remote valve and hold and shut the valve and see at what pressure the releif kicks out you will have to hold the remote valve open as it will kick out first . Make sure that you don't run the system out of oil, i do the releif test withe hose dumping back into the fill tube first then the bucket , just don't hold the releif test for more then a few seconds . then with the valve open do a 30 sec. full flow into the bucket and see how many gal. you got then times two is about what the pump is putting out then do a test with a 1000 psi on the gauge by closing the valve part way and see how many gal. you get in thiry sec. . Now on to part two of the problem the MCV there are new spring kits out there i have always got them from HY CAPACITY along with the new gskt. kit and my pumps , This may mean a trip across the border.
