460U gas line, throttle spring, air precleaner

Posted by doug stockman on May 08, 2004 at 03:25:28 from (65.229.131.79):

Greetings:

1959 460 utility tractor
C&G = Carter & Greunwald (?sp)

1. My gas line is starting to leak at the connectors and the connectors are starting to round over where you wrench them. I called C&G and they no longer have gas lines with the connectors attached. They have the connectors. A steel gas line goes into the connector and then a ring is on the gas line on the other side of the connector. Where do I get a replace complete gas line or how do I make a new gas line with new connectors?

2. My parts manual shows a spring and a couple of metal connectors on the lower part of the throttle shaft (below dashboard, near hydraulic valves). My tractor does not have the spring or the two metal parts. The parts manual does not show how things are attached and C&G does not have the metal parts, just the spring. Can anyone email me a photo of the inferior end of the throttle shaft where the spring and 2 metal parts go so I can see what I need to make and how to attach them?

3. At the top of the air intake pipe I have a precleaner composed of a metal "hat", a ring of wire mesh, and a paper filter inside the wire mesh. A previous owner had crushed the precleaner pretty badly. I asked C&G for a replacement, but they sent me a clear plastic doughnut that is nothing like I have. Any idea where I can get the paper filter and possibly a premade mesh ring?

Thanks in advance for any and all help.
