Out side or Barn kept ???

Is there a reason why a tractor is left outside? Over night or months on end, why can't they put inside? If you have the money to afford the tractor, then why can't it be put it inside? And if that's not possible, can it at least be covered up? Just my opinion. Thanks for listening. John
