One way cylinder (Formally 2 way) and a Farmall H

I want to use a cylinder that was a 2 way(sorry it is a JD 2 1/2 RC1501) that was just rebuilt with my Farmall H. My Farmall H has only the Lift-All. I was wondering if I will do any harm to the Hydraulic cylinder because oil will be now on one side of the seals only. I know how to hook it up to the Farmall H Lift-All and know how to vent the cylinder to make it into a one way cylinder. I know that I can get an aftermarket valve or a "Remote Control"(If I can locate a good one) for two way operation. I was wondering, I should hook up the cylinder similar to how a #31 loader cylinder works (Down is by gravity but the other side of the cylinder is just used to store oil), it would still be one way but don't know if it would be too hard to compress the cylinder from the weight of a light implement. Would I then have to fill the Lift-All all of the way up with oil? I would probably have to take the dipstick out (Like for the #31 loader). Would I have to have a breather in the return? Or will one way be ok to the cylinder? Thanks!!
