the spring damper goes to the pressure plate side , the vary best way to put it together is hang the pressureplate and disc on the input shaft and slide it together but first lock the fingers down , this can be done buy layen your pressure plate down on the floor and using your heel push down on one lever at a time and install a 1/4 inch nut between the lever and plate . NOW most times this is done from the rebuilder and if it already done make sure that you get them out after ya start to bolt the plate to the flywheel then ya just slide the tractor together and install the bolts from underthe tractor thru the hole in the bottom this way ya only have to align the pilotbearing.
