Mike: If I were going to use that tractor as you are I would abandon that charging system and go alternator. I have done this with three of these little offsets a SuperA, 130 and 140. You say it looks like someone changed to coil and distributor. Most Super A came with distributor and coil. Your serial number should be under the seat on left seat bracket unless you have a Super A1 and will be on left side of clutch housing. The engine serial which should be close is on a machined surface just under number 1 plug. The number you have given us is a part number only. On that charging system send me an e mail.
