well it dosen't sound bad to me -- I baught a 1954 super H -- it came with a brush hog, it too is in excellent running order, and I figure the rough cut mower is worth 700 used. I paid 1800.00 -- but the paint is not in great shape, and the nose piece (sheet metal) has a few dents in. I would go for it -- just make sure it dosen't smoke much during start-up (if sitting a little is to be expected) The only real problem I had with mine was the float was stuck a bit, but nothing a tap from the handle of a screwdriver didn't fix -- then it started right up. I wish you well with it -- I too am a new collector - tractor people are some of the nicest people i have ever met -- may i suggest subscribing to a magazine called red power -- excellent source for information, and prices. also lancaster farmer -- another good place to look for comparing prices. spartan
