You tuned it I presume with new clean, correctly set points and condenser. If you took the gears out of the gear case and didn't align the marks correctly it won't be in time and work correctly. The R mark on the dist. gear lines up with beveled tooth on small metal gear for a CW drive mag and L mark for a CCW mag. Could have a bad coil or bad wire from points to condenser. Replace wire or cover with heat shrink tubing. Check to make sure terminal under points cover isn't touching ground. Check for the brush in cap to be there and clean contacts in cap and on rotor or replace. Take off kill terminal wire to be sure that wire or switch isn't the problem. Try these simple things first. I can help with a look at it or other tests if needed. good luck.
