My 300 is getting a much needed overhaul. I have never replaced a clutch, or done any work to the T/A, so I am a little uneasy at starting this task. I assume the clutch needs replacing due to little or no adjustment can be made. The longer the tractor runs, the harder it is to shift without grinding a gear. Also, my T/A has never worked. I can not tell a difference when the T/A lever is moved to one position to the other. Lastly, my rear PTO works, but when I shut it off during operation, I hear a whinning sound. Since many of the readers of this forum are experts at tractor repairs, can you give me some advice? Are all three of these problems related? Thanks for your time and advice!
