Hi Bill, Like everyone else has stated, that popping can only be caused by something related to the timing on the intake cycle. A cylinder is firing with its' intake valve open for some reason, allowing the resultant explosion an avenue back to the carb. Are you sure you have the firing order correctly wired? Weak valve spring? Flat cam? Tracks or moisture in the Cap? Rotor? Just some ideas, Allan
