there were more 766 gas tractors built than the diesel tractors because when the 766 first came out it was only offered in a gas tractor for the first couple of years. and when the diesel came out lots of farmers had already purchased 966 tractors insted. the 766 was built from 1971 to 1976 with a total of gas and diesel tractors produced being 10,800 tractors
