Good looking trailer there Kelly. I have a little story to tell about a "bought" trailer. A couple years ago I decided to purchase a 16 ft bumper pull trailer (7,000 lb rated with self storing ramps) to haul my C and 8N ford on, and whatever else I might need to haul. The first time I tried to load the trailer I pulled my C on the ramps I noticed the fenders "pull" away from the side rails. My attention was drawn away from the fenders by the fact my tires were set too wide to load anyway so I backed off the ramps and loaded the 8N and brush hog as I had some mowing to do at my other place. Again I noticed the fenders pull away from the side rails. To make a long story short I basically bent the side rails in a rainbow due to the weight of the tractor on the very rear of the trailer when loading. To make a long story short I took the trailer to the manufacturer and they replaced it with a much heavier built one, but told me I should support the rear when loading with ramps (I probably should). My argument was that it included loading ramps and no support for the rear nor did anyone mention to only use the ramps when supported and my load did not get close to the 7,000 lbs the trailer was rated for. The original trailer was made from 3X5X1/4 angle on the sides. The one they replaced it with is made with 4X6X3/8 angle and welded much better. I have loaded it without support and it does not give, but I probably would not load an M on it. Bottom line is some manufactured trailers are very weak, but I did get a decent built trailer in the end for approximately $1100.
