international 504 diesel

What is the correct timimg for the injector pump on the IH 504? Just had pump rebuilt and after installing it has no power and overheats. I installed the pump at 0 degrees on the crank and the lines even in the window of the pump. Is this correct? I tried advancing and retarding the pump. No help. Tractor ran fine until pump removed. Maybe something else headed south on the tractor. Replaced thermostat, checked water pump, still no help. Any ideas? Thanks J Smith
