We're trying to get our 424 back in service after a couple of year's dead storage. It runs but doesn't seem to be getting gas enough to run much above idle. Gas line, filter and outlet from tank seem free and when we take the line off the carb there's a pretty good flow. Carb itself seems clean, cylindrical filter on incoming elbow Ok. This carb has a solenoid on the main metering valve and I've forgotten just what this is supposed to do. Shut the valve when you turn off the ignition to prevent desieling maybe? How should this metering valve be adjusted? Am I correct that the solenoid activates when the ignition switch is on? Thanks kindly for any help you can offer. Keewaydin
