Dick, It looks to me like the spring in the pitman stick of a JD #5 mower is either the same or very close to it. The spring in my JD #5 is 5 1/4" long by about 11/16" in diameter. If you can't find one, come on over to Nebraska City and I will give you an extra one that I have and a cup of coffee too! Bob
