I make as many of the simple gaskets as I can with basic vegetable gasket material, available in most hardware/auto parts stores. There are a number of specialty gaskets on the tractors that I have found very difficult to duplicate. The manifold gaskets are an example. I buy much of my gasket material from MSC Industrial Supply Company (1-800-645-7270). Use a good quality gasket sealer and pay attention to the thickness of the original gasket. Some are thinker than others.
Simply take the old gasket and trace it on the new material and cut it out with a scissors and an exacto knife.

MSC sells very large gasket sheets in 36 inch widths. 5 feet of the stuff sells for under 30 dollars. One can make the tranny gasket and then use the middle cut out to make many, many gaskets.

Be sure to replace that tranny cover gasket or you WILL be sorry. RTV or equivelent alone will not seal it.

When I order a gasket from Case, I trace it on thick stock paper and never have to buy another one of that kind again. Keep a gasket trace book and use them at will for future projects. I have 8 Farmall H's waiting for me. If I bought all new CASE stock gaskets it would bankrupt me. It feels good using homemade gaskets. They work fine. Just be careful and use the same amount of care you would use rebuilding the Magneto.
