My 6V H distributor kept going through points, etc. until I had the bushings & shaft rebuilt @ my C-IH dealer, after it fried the 2nd coil. (I'm a slow learner.) It was spendy, but less expensive than a new distributor & no more aggervation. Could your problem be that the bushings are wore out? (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
