Sounds like you have manual steering. My 300 did the same thing until I evened out the linkage. You have to disconect the tie rods at the steering box then make sure the steering wheel is at mid point between right and left, count the number of turns. Once your wheel is centered readjust the tie rod ends and that should keep the tires from floping all the way around. There are some adjustments that can be made to take play out but I don't know how.
