There has been one tractor I know of the correct torque wouldn't work, so a breaker bar was used and it is still running over 15 years later. This was on a 560, but that is most likely an isolated case. On an Oliver 1800 my Dad used to own we replaced the head gasket three times in a year and on the third time we actually painted the gasket with silver paint, let it get tacky and then installed it--never had problem again. We had even tried coppercoat and tabers hot gasket cement before that with no luck. I am a mechanic also and on any gasket like a "Printoseal" I won't use any sealer, but if its the old metal gaskets I almost always will use something.
