I have heard numerous starting problems with the 560D. But I can tell you they didn't read the owner's book or know about IH diesels. IH diesels are hard to start in the cold unless you plug them in for at least three hours before starting! Then start as normal, advance the throttle all the way and return to quarter throttle, hold glow plug for 30 sec. then hit starter and then hold glow plugs for 15 sec after it starts. Works every time provided you have a good battery. I keep running two 6 volts in mine, has plenty of juice to start. As far as rear end problem goes the early ones had weaker rears but you can tell if they were replaced because the dealer scribed a triangle after the serial number.
