Yes, that's exactly what happens. The carb was acting like a metering device dropping the pressure of the fuel and it flashing at the inlet of the intake manifold dropping the pressure/temp. The phase change of the gasoline from liquid to gas absorbs heat, just as a refrigerant does. Sometimes it causes the temperature of the carburetor body to fall below the dew point of the surrounding air. Isn't it nifty? George Willer
