My dad has my uncles 41 M. Uncle Ralph bought it in 62. He died Memroial day in 65. A year later I bought it for 500. I couldnt make the payments so dad bought it and still has it. It had a rubber shifter. As to the war, remember it had a 1 in 12 chance of being fitted with a steel shifter knob, and since probably that didnt start until late in 42, it had no chance at all of being fitted with a steel knob.
