According to the sheet in my carb kit, 27/32" from the bottom of the float to the machined surface of the carb bowl with the float holding the valve closed. To make it easier, clamp the top of the carburetor gently in your vise upside down. It is a lot easier to measure from the machined surface to the bottom of the float that way.
