Jimmy: A lot of tractors left the factory with rubber on front and steel on rear during WW#2. My dad bought a W4 in 1942, got the wheels and rims with it and had to take rear steel to use it. He wasn't able to buy tires until after the war. This was in Canada, and suspect the situation may have been different in US.
