for a newbie, you can put the draft lever all the way forward to the "heavy" end of the quadrant. this disables draft control. if you have the fast hitch unloaded or are using a trailing implement on it, the draft lever is also supposed to be all the way forward. certain tasks require the draft sensing to be disabled, while others such as plowing can benefit greatly from using it properly. my dad and uncle never used the draft control for plowing... the indented area of the position lever quadrant(lower/raise) controls the speed at which the draft reacts to changes in the load. all the way to the bottom is slow, and just at the edge of the indentation is fast. mis adjustments and 30 some years of wear will make the system work quirky. between having a manual for reference and the hydraulic controls properly adjusted, you should be able to figure it out, and soon make good use of it. -karl
