Steven: I think these discussions re; how much plow, disc, cultivator, chisel plow, round baler, etc. a specific tractor can pull has a lot of variables. We have a vast aray of soil types, climate, etc across North America. Tractors considered to be 4 plow in one area may 5 in another and possibly 3 somewhere The other item I find that varies greatly is terminology from one geographical area to another. If you think about it, the discussion we carry on across North America and indeed I believe we now go further abroad than this contenant, would not have been possible only a few short years ago. I started school 55 years ago this fall in a one room school that took in 5 miles of a single country road. We didn't know the people in the next community 5 miles away. By the time I graduated 26 districts had been amalgamated. Now by the use of this little gadget in front of me I converse with people around the globe. All of that happened in 55 years. Is there any wonder why we use different terminology for machines. This is to all, MAYBE WE SHOULD BE JUST A BIT MORE TOLLERANT OF ONE ANOTHER. In future when someone calls it a chisel plow, rather than jumping all over him. Just ask yourself can this be the same machine I call a chisel plow. We have a great resource here, lets use it to LEARN MORE ABOUT TRACTORS. and related equipment.
