Scot: My dad had an H and later a 300 which I had until it was well over 35 years old. Never did have any problems with the crank. We broke our casting in exactly same place as you describe. The break in our case was caused by loader. The 33A loaders front support bolted to side chanels just behind that casting. I know of a couple more that broke same way and same loader. I later had a Wagner loader on that tractor, a much heavier loader The Wagner had a frame running paralell to and just slightly above the tractor casting and chanels. The loader was bolted to chanels as well as going right around the front and bolted to front of casting on those holes on corners. The Wagner loader actually beefed up tractor front end.

Unless you know different as to what happened I would suggest someone had a 33A loader on your tracror sometime. I remember changing that casting, we never did put the crank in new casting as loader was on tractor much of the time.
