Like BigRed said, it has to few speeds, in the transmission. There is a big jump between 1st and 2nd.Fuelconsumption is according to Nebraska Tractortests 11 gallons per hour running with open full power. I have a 1568 (V-8) which is slightly easier on fuel and I don´t think it is to bad considering the power it has. I have been operating one of these funny looking green ones, John Deere 4440 and it used 9 gallons for field work seeding at 80 percent efficiency, and it is 33 hp less. Good luck with it.Jens Andersen, Denmark
