I painted mine with High heat manifold and exhaust paint that cost around $3 a can and goes a long way. I bought mine at O'reilly auto parts but later found out that Wal-mart has the same stuff. I painted this one a year ago and still looks the same today. And it does get hot. While plowing snow I thought I would just touch it with my heavy leather glove just to see how hot. I know ....dumb. It burned a hole clean through in about 1/2 second.
