I rebuilt the ta on my SMTA bout a year ago. You have to split tractor at the bell housing behind engine then again in front of transmission. Once you have center unit safely sitting on something where you can work you take everything, mostly out of it. Mine also slipped in low side but worked fine on high side. Probably the ramp and roller setup. I got a rebuilt ramp and roller setup for about 110 from Steel wheel ranch. You can get a rebuilt TA with the sprague type setup from them also or others but I believe it runs about $400 plus. In addition you need gaskets, seals and maybe the ta clutch plate. While there it is good to check the main clutch and replace the throwout bearing and pilet bearing and possibly rear seal. It isn't as big a job as it sounds if you have the equipment, split stands and all. I would not attempt it without a good manuel, either IT or Blue Ribbon. Would also suggest getting a parts book as it shows how things go together. My overhaul probably cost me about $350 but I didn't need a new ta clutch. and didn't end up using the new main clutch plate I bought.
