It is rather difficult to crank it over by hand. We tried a couple of times {when the carb wasn't working right, to pull start it with my 88 and the motor would turn over in 5th gear. Tried it in 4th, slid the tires on pavement. Going to try it tommorro, and I'll lube the sleeves up. I went out and looked it over, and I have one wire {black, medium size} going from the alternator to the ammeter. Then I have a small red wire also going from the alternator to the starter. I will have to take the red wire off, connect it to my on/off switch, and connect it to my cut-out relay on the resister/distributor right? Thanks!!
