I'm going to shut up, send in another contribution (which is overdue on my part), and hope she'll send some of that rain to Colorado, where we can certainly use it (300 year drought is in the process of turning into a 1000 year drought at this point); she's welcome to keep the wind, we've got too much of that already.

I hope everyone will join me in expressing my appreciation to Kim for this great forum, and agree that communications problems sometimes result in difficulties where none should exist. She's indicated that the concerns are now understood and will be addressed; I certainly agree with her that it's time to move on to something more positive.

Anyway, FYI everyone:

Dick, the comments about kindly feedback were not directed to you personally, just the opposite. I was implying that your remarks were indeed kindly and so your input would be much appreciated.

...That is one of the difficulties of email and the internet. We have only our words - our facial expressions and tone of voice do not come through and so even the most carefully chosen words may not come accross as we intended.

I'll look into the filters, they are suppose to be looking for (commercial) addresses only. I'll have the programmers look at it, I meant what I said previously, that only the (commercial) addresses are discouraged.

There are some cases where a vendor, after being asked not to advertise in the forums, have retaliated in a threatening manner. These cases are handled a little differently, depending on the severity of their correspondence and threat.

Thanks for writing, I hope you are having a fine day. It is rainy and very windy here in the Northwest.

Well, I guess there are two areas which need some followup. First, what you have written below is incorrect. Not only is the link to (BrandX website) suppressed, but any mention of (BrandX) in the text of a post generally causes the entire post to be rejected (i.e., it doesn't get posted). The latter is NOT what your response, below, indicates is what is supposed to be happening. It IS what all of the people who have posted on this thread are complaining about.

Second, I agree with your emphasis on civility. I hope that the lines "call us names and make rude remarks, as if our families and livelihood don't matter" and "if you can make them kindly" are not directed at me personally; if they are, please indicate where you feel offended, and I'll certainly consider your feedback.

Today's Featured Article - Choosin, Mounting and Using a Bush Hog Type Mower - by Francis Robinson. Looking around at my new neighbors, most of whom are city raised and have recently acquired their first mini-farms of five to fifteen acres and also from reading questions ask at various discussion sites on the web it is frighteningly apparent that a great many guys (and a few gals) are learning by trial and error and mostly error how to use a very dangerous piece of farm equipment. It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro ... [Read Article]
