Yes this is the best tractor forum there is, and I don't want anything to happen to it. However, I consider YTMag's suppression of info about Brand X to be a restriction on the exchange of information, which is what this forum is about. I have been reading this forum everyday for 4 years or so. When I found out they wanted contributions I began contributing $20 a year or nearly 3 times the recommended amount, others have contributed more. I have manuals from Brand X, Brand Y (which I think are the ones YTMag sells) and Brand Z (Case/IH) Brand X and Brand Z are equivalent, with Brand X having the original style covers that closely resemble the original IH manuals. Brand Y manuals are not as high qualty as Brand X and Z the print is darker and the drawings are not as clear. The BrandZ parts books are bound, not loose leaf, I prefer to put the pages in plastic to keep my grubby fingerprints off of them. I see nothing wrong with recommending a product and giving my opinion about it, others have different opinions and are free to state them. Also before YTMag began doing this, I answered several posts, some were rather lenghly (I type slow, and have to make a lot of corrections to be readable), mention brand X somewhere in the post and the whole post disappears. I don't appreciate that. I also note that the forum for site questions is now email only. That is where this post belongs, but if I put it there only the YTMag people would see it.

Today's Featured Article - Picking Corn - by Rick Nikolich. It was the day before Christmas shutdown at work and I asked our lead engineering expert Scott Andrzejewski what he was going to do over the holidays. He said that he had some corn that he still needed to pick with an antique one-row New Idea corn picker. Scott has a nice farm about an hour north of Lansing in St. Johns, MI. He wanted to get the rest of his corn in by the next day (Christmas Eve). We had about an inch of new snow on the ground and single digit temperatures. So in the bac ... [Read Article]
