I have four of them lying around in various stages of decomposition. We made a lot of bales with them years ago, but I would never go back. No kicker, no fold over tongue, really nasty job to replace shear bolts, wooden slides rather than rollers on the ram, no easy adjustment of bale length, but what the heck, they're nearly fifty years old. I would look for something a little newer if you just want to make bales, but if you want to match up the correct baler with an H or M, that's the one. I could probably drag one of mine out of the snowbank and make it bale hay with a day's tinkering. The knotters can be tempermental, but so can a lot of others. The thing I remember being a constant pain is the slip clutch for the pickup drive. It was a ratchet and the hammering when it slipped would eventually shear off the drive pins and smear the end over so that they were about impossible to get out.
