My IH-560 hydraulics have also quit working. Problem came in 2 steps:
1. Initially, very slow movement of loader lift and dump cylinders, characterized by intermittent loading and unloading of pump, even when operating handles were centered (in nuetral).
Tested pump discharge pressure by installing test gauges and shut off/bypass valve in both ports of lift (rightside), and alternately in both ports of dump (leftside) couplers. Got pressures alternating from 200 to in excess of 1200 psi, which indicates to me that pump was OK at this point.
2. Desparately short of time, had to try and use tractor and loader to move snow on bitterly cold day, and now hydraulics have quit altogether.
Already have I&T Shop Service Manual, (IH-25), and have read section on 460-560-660.
The crude line drawing in Fig IH1222 does not clearly show me which is the discharge line from the pump to the valves (for installing the test guage & valve), nor does it give me any details for what types of fittings/hoses/pipes I need on hand to use in hooking it up.
I could eventually figure this out, but cannot have shop tied up for long periods while waiting for such fittings to come in, etc.
Can anyone give me details on this hookup?
The I&T trouble-shooting section has good general information, but is severely lacking in detail such as the symptoms I gave above (in initial step).
I&T Manual does not help me narrow down potential problems when both lift and dump valves and corresponding pressures act in generally similar ways.
Would like to buy a manual that specifically deals with IH 460-560-660 Hydraulics, with a very detailed trouble shooting section. Anyone have one for sale?
Don't want to tie up shop and tractor until I get better information.

Today's Featured Article - Choosin, Mounting and Using a Bush Hog Type Mower - by Francis Robinson. Looking around at my new neighbors, most of whom are city raised and have recently acquired their first mini-farms of five to fifteen acres and also from reading questions ask at various discussion sites on the web it is frighteningly apparent that a great many guys (and a few gals) are learning by trial and error and mostly error how to use a very dangerous piece of farm equipment. It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro ... [Read Article]
